LIZTON TOWN COUNCIL MEETING

MONDAY, AUGUST 14, 2017

 

Meeting was called to order.  Present were Council Members Bob Fisher, Bob Uhrick, Lise’ Crouch and Tonya Perry, Clerk-Treasurer.   Bob Uhrick made motion to accept the minutes as read, Lise’ seconded the motion.

CLERK-TREASURER RERPORT

-Three garage sale permits

-One peddler permit

-One temporary sign permit

-One release of a lien, with a re-lien from prior month due to ownership changing from person to a business.

-We will need to go door-to-door to finish out our income surveys.

-INDOT Rest Area 74 project needs a contact person for this project.  Council asked that Triad be our point for this project.

-2018 Budget Hearing is September 11 and 2018 Budget Adoption is October 9th.

-Mike McKinney had emailed his report to Tonya.

-Street grant—Still no word.

-Bills were ready for approval.

FIRE REPORT

Report was submitted.

POLICE REPORT

Report was submitted.  Huber Dr garage sale permit has expired but garage sale is still happening.

Lise’ requested further discussion on Marshal/Deputy maintenance hours to be nailed down

BUILDING INSPECTOR REPORT

Report was submitted.  Livesay room addition remains open.  Wedding Barn sign is completed.

WASTEWATER REPORT

Report was submitted.

TOWN ENGINEER REPORT

No report was submitted.

ZONING REPORT

1.        Permits/Applications

ILP

-Carver Property-Application reviewed, building permit issued.  Contractor said that construction would start this fall

SIGN

-Kim Svoma (Barn at Kennedy Farm) sign permit issued

OTHER

-Mr. Larry Canada property owner of 103 W. Main St has submitted an application for a rezoning from an R-2 to HB.  Hearing was not heard at the July 24th Plan Commission meeting due to lack of a quorum.  Rescheduled hearing for Monday, August 14 @ 6:30 pm.  Update to follow.

       2.    Inspections/Violations

              -Zarate/Venture Church parking lot has been lined.  Signage still needs to be put up by INDOT

  -Julie Hann with Hendricks Co. Health Dept. called requesting zoning regulation for recreational vehicle.  This was concerning a complaint about individual living in a pop up camper in the backyard of a property in town for 3 months and urinating in yard.

Members for Plan Commission-  Greg Mohr resigned and Jim Mohr has been suggested.  Asking Paul Brasher’s resignation due to lack of attendance.

Dairy Bar has changed property owners.
