Plan Commission

The Lizton Plan Commission is established under I.C. 36-7-4-207(b) which requires the Commission to consist of seven (7) members. The members of the Commission include: three (3) persons who must be elected or appointed municipal officials or employees of the municipal government, appointed by the municipal legislative body, and four (4) citizen members appointed by the municipal executive, of whom no more than two (2) may be of the same political party. 

The Lizton Plan Commission is charged with the responsibility to prepare a Comprehensive Plan; Zoning Ordinance and Subdivision Control Ordinance; making recommendations to the legislative body on proposals to amend the text of the zoning and subdivision control ordinances; making recommendations to the legislative body on proposals to amend the Official Zoning Map (rezonings); approving or denying proposals to subdivide land based upon compliance with the Subdivision Control Ordinance; approving development plans and assigning addresses.
